On Thursday 15 October 2026, from 11:00 to 11:45, in the Satosphère of the SAT, I took part in the panel “Promoting cultural heritage through digital creation”, part of the Culture and Creativity track of MTL connecte.

What a joy to be in such good company.

A celebration of the digital

MTL connecte is a celebration of the digital. A digital world that lets us see each other where we never imagined we could, talk about the future, the past and sharing, and make the connections that will build tomorrow’s ideas and actions.

The panel

Digital technology is transforming the way we document, preserve and pass on heritage, tangible and intangible alike: immersive technologies, 3D modelling, artificial intelligence, interactive experiences. This panel brought together researchers and creators exploring these new ways of bringing places, objects, stories and know-how back to life, while keeping in view the ethical, cultural and social questions they raise.

  • Dave Hawey, professor at École NAD-UQAC, the school of digital arts, animation and design of the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, where he heads the Praxis lab.
  • Shirin Abu Shaqra, assistant professor at École NAD-UQAC.
  • Stephane Nepton, coordinator for Digital Mediation and First Nations at Printemps numérique.
  • And myself, artistic director of ANISOTROPIE.

Thank you

A very special thank you to Géraldine Bueken, who conducted this exchange like an orchestra, and to the whole team at Printemps numérique and MTL connecte.

This panel was part of my two days with the MTL connecte international delegation: the route, venue by venue.
